Ian Davies, ChairmanWelcome: As Chairman of Berkhamsted Film Society I would like to tell you a little about who we are and what we do. We are an active and friendly society with around 200 members. We meet in the Civic Centre, Berkhamsted and screen about 15 films a season. Most of the films are screened for two nights running to give people a greater opportunity to come along.

Civic CentreWe start the season with a welcoming glass of wine and at Christmas celebrate with wine and mince pies. We finish each season with a Film Party where members have a chance to enjoy light refreshments with a film, and a Film Quiz or similar entertainment afterwards.

We project using a modern digital projection and Dolby surround sound system. Our projector is ceiling mounted and we project onto a large 5 metre wide screen which produces a high quality image. The Hall is equipped with a hearing loop and has wheelchair access.

We screen a wide selection of English-language and Foreign-language (sub-titled) films across a range of genres, from recent main stream releases to art house films. Films are selected by our Society committee and include suggestions from members. Go to the Programme page for further details.
